Price Bloodstock led by John and Katrina Price is focused on producing elite Standardbreds to compete in classic races.

At the heart of this vision is the boutique PB broodmare band which has been carefully curated to feature the best pedigrees and performers of New Zealand, Australia and USA. The foundation mares of Chicago Blues and Democrat Party have been joined by the Little Brown Jugette winner, Alexa’s Power and multiple
Australian Group 1 winner, Carlas Pixel, among others. 

 

Utilisation of industry-leading bloodlines is complemented by meticulous attention to nutrition, care and education of PB horses in the  renowned Central Southland environment.

 

Named the 2025 New Zealand Breeders of the Year, the PB alumni include Chicago Bull, Republican Party, Democrat Party, Tour Party, Perfect Stride, Duchess Maria, with signs that the best is yet to come. 

 

The majority of PB progeny are offered for sale at the National Yearling Sales, where they are highly sought after and regularly judged ‘Best Presented’. 

 

John and Katrina race a number of horses themselves, mainly fillies selected for retention as future broodmares. Some opportunities for racing syndicates are offered.
